C’s Bio:

Cynthia Highsmith-Hooks was born in Long Island, New York. The oldest child and only daughter in a family of four children, she’s been writing her entire life. Her first book, “The Soul of a Black Woman: From a Whisper to a Shout,” was published in 2002. The collection of poetry and short stories earned her a mention in Literary Divas: The Top 100+ Admired African-American Women in Literature, a 2006 Amber Books Publication.

After taking a few years off from writing, Cynthia’s alter-ego Imani True (“True”) collaborated with Dreama Skye on Strawberries, Stilettos, and Steam, a collection of erotic stories published by NCM Publishing in the summer of 2010. That same year, more of Cynthia’s work was published in Delphine Publications’ anthology Between the Sheets.

She recently released A Little Sumthin’ Sumthin’, her first work in the genre of crime thrillers. Several more will follow.

When she’s not writing, she enjoys watching crime thrillers, traveling, and surfing the internet. A Medical Laboratory Technician in her first life, she has a B.S. in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, a group dedicated to promoting crime writers and their work.

Cynthia is currently working on several novels, a few anthologies, and four screenplays.
