Excerpt:

Alicha braced herself. She was about to pick up the cell and place her third and final call for the night. She had a fluttering in her stomach that would not go away. She was about to confront her husband’s mistress. In doing so, she would be saying goodbye to, not one, but two of the most important people in her life—her husband and her best friend. Her hands shook as she scrolled the call log and found the number that she was all too familiar with. Usually she would be calling this number for comfort, a shoulder to cry on after she and Jonathan had been arguing, or to share her joy when they were at their best. Tonight was a totally different call, though. Alicha would have to seek comfort elsewhere. Right now, it was time to handle business.
